- What makes us different
Medication Management and Psychiatry
Some women will benefit from or need medication alongside therapy. Like therapy, we offer medication management with women’s health needs in mind. For example, some women may need to switch medications during pregnancy or when they are trying to become pregnant. You might be concerned about side effects. In that case, it’s important to find a provider who will hear your concerns and work with you closely to make adjustments. That’s where we come in. We’re here to listen, guide you through trial and error as needed, and find the right fit for you.
Similar to our therapy providers, every member of our medication management team has unique areas of specialty. These range from challenges like peri- and post-menopause and menstrual-related symptoms (e.g., PMS, PMDD) to grief, eating disorders, anxiety, healthy aging, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, insomnia, trauma, depression, and more. These are psychiatrists and psychiatric nurse practitioners. They can help with not just medication management but nutrition, lifestyle, diagnostics, and other areas, depending on who you see. Reading their biographies on our website or giving us a call can help you find a match.

- FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
Why does specialized care for women's mental health matter?
It is not uncommon for women to feel disregarded or overlooked in healthcare settings. Specialized care matters because it not only considers the unique experiences women might have (e.g., sexism, higher chances of some types of traumatic events) but focuses on giving women a better experience all around. You’re the expert when it comes to your body and your needs. Our women’s health team prioritizes collaboration and whole-person care for women.
What is women’s mental health therapy?
Women’s mental health therapy acknowledges social, biological, and cultural factors as they relate to women’s overall well-being. It means seeing a provider who understands how gender can affect your life experiences, health, needs, feelings, and goals.
Could I request a female therapist?
Yes! You can request to have a woman as your therapist, psychiatrist, or primary care provider. The more you can tell us about what you’re looking for, the better. This information will help WCT Behavioral Health set you up with the right match.
Can I switch providers if I need to?
Absolutely. Just let us know – you can stop treatment or change providers whenever you need to. This is true across all of our services.
Does insurance cover your women’s health services?
Yes! WCT Behavioral Health and Wellness provides comprehensive care covered by insurance. You can use insurance coverage to help pay for the costs associated with any of our services (e.g., therapy, medication management, primary care). We accept Husky (Medicaid), Medicare, Anthem, Aetna, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare, and other types of insurance. Call WCT Behavioral Health and Wellness or contact us online today to verify your coverage.
What are your hours?
WCT Behavioral Health and Wellness is open from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM on weekdays and by appointment on Saturdays and Sundays. If you contact us outside of office hours, we will return your call or email as soon as we return.
