"Strive for progress, not perfection"

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know if I really need therapy?
This answer is a little different for everyone. Some signs that you might need professional help could be that you start to feel the impact negatively in your life. Some of the things that could be affected are your sleep, professional life, appetite, or your relationships with your friends, family, or loved ones. If you feel down or hopeless, these might be signs that you could benefit from professional therapy.
It’s so easy to put things off in your life, especially those that are impacting your life negatively. The decision to get help can be extremely difficult for many people. You are NOT alone. Life is full of emotions and we often dismiss those emotions when we are feeling anxiety, emotional pain, relationship stress, and financial problems. When you take responsibility for your mental health and well-being, you take the first and most important step in your journey to finding inner peace.
Professional counseling gives you an opportunity to share, but also to gain new understanding and perspective. Life can be overwhelming at times, and having a professional provide you with a new outlook can be extremely beneficial. Your counselor will help you set goals and provide you with the tools to achieve these goals. Getting to the root of the issues that are affecting you negatively, and changing the behaviors, can help you regain control of your life.

This varies from person to person. The needs and goals of every person are very different and therefore everyone’s treatment is different. Each therapist will approach the session with those needs and goals in mind.
