Dawn Amram
LMSW
I am passionate about helping others work through their struggles, and providing participants with kind, compassionate, trauma-informed and healing centered care. I obtained my Masters Degree in Advanced Clinical Social Work from Columbia University and spent time working with children, adolescents and adults at the Yale Child Study Center. My professional interests include working with children, adolescents and adults through providing trauma-informed Individual Psychotherapy, Clinical Assessment, Mental Health Services, Relationship Counseling, and Family Therapy services in Outpatient Psychiatric Clinics and through Telehealth. I strive to assist clients in learning how to rebuild trust in themselves and their community, learn to regulate behaviors and emotions, disengage in harmful behaviors, and gain the coping skills necessary to feel empowered and find meaning in their lives.
My approach to working with clients includes following a participant focused, led and centered approach. I want the client to feel understood, heard, and involved in their treatment. I am an empathetic and empowering therapist who believes in the innate strength of my clients. With a compassionate approach, I believe all individuals possess untapped resilience and potential for growth. I customize my support, tailoring plans to address each person's unique struggles and requirements. Together with my clients, we can foster a journey of healing and self-discovery, guiding them to rebuild trust, manage emotions, and overcome obstacles.
