Kyleen Griffin

LCSW

I am committed to helping individuals from all backgrounds. I have an array of professional knowledge and expertise from working in a variety of different settings in a clinical role. I believe in order for therapy to create a tremendous impact on someone’s life, the need for a strong therapeutic relationship has to be present. I am hoping I am able to provide this to you.

I have been in the social work profession for several years and earned my masters degree from Southern Connecticut State University. I have worked with clients of many different ages, however, I specialize in working with children, adolescents and families. I have worked in a variety of settings including inpatient units, in-home therapeutic services, school settings, and intensive outpatient settings. Throughout each career I have learned new therapeutic techniques and skills to carry with me into whatever career path comes next. The focus of therapy is what you wish to work on and to pave the path you want to follow in life.

Throughout my professional experience I have worked with individuals experiencing: Major Depression, Anxiety, Bipolar Disorder, Personality Disorder, Substance Use Disorders, PTSD, Suicidality, Eating Disorders and Obsessive Compulsive Personality Disorder. I use an array of therapeutic techniques depending on the need such as cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, cognitive restructuring, dialectical behavior therapy, ACT (acceptance and commitment therapy), and psychodynamic and interpersonal therapy. I offer individual and family counseling based on the severity and need.

My main goal is to create an environment of acceptance and safety. Looking for a therapist can be hard, and opening up to one can be even more challenging. I am hoping to create a sense of trust and security in each therapeutic relationship I encounter. I hope to encourage everyone to be the best versions of themselves and am happy to provide knowledge and resources to alleviate any stressors that are posing as a barrier to your best self.

I am currently accepting clients via telehealth.
