Jacenya Nguyen

Jacenya is a Licensed Professional Counselor and National Certified Counselor. She received her undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Connecticut and her Masters's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Bridgeport.

My clinical experience has been in both outpatient and in-home settings working with a wide range of clients in the greater Waterbury area. I have experience with children, adolescents, and adults of all ages, who present with a variety of mental health disorders such as Depression, Anxiety, Trauma, Conduct Disorders, Substance Use, and Co-occurring Disorders. I have also worked with children and adults involved in the court system and have experience working with families who have DCF involvement.

In addition to my clinical experience, I have also worked in the Waterbury public school system assisting children who receive special education and have experience working with family service agencies that provide in-home services to individuals with Autism and other developmental challenges.

I am well versed in CBT and Solution Focused treatment and provide culturally competent and trauma-informed care to all my clients. My therapeutic approach is tailored to the need of each individual client and focuses on forming a collaborative relationship to foster change.
